이-엉 / WEAV-IEONG
- 선은 엮여 면이되고, 면은 엮여 공간이되며 역할을 다한 공간은 풀려 다시금 선으로 돌아간다. 우리는 초가지붕의 재료인 이엉에서 ‘엮임’이라는 핵심개념을 도출하였고, 짚이라는 부재가 가지는 특성에서 나아가 공동체, 생애주기의 엮임이라는 개념으로 확장하였다. 초가의 이엉이 전통과 현대, 건축의 생애주기, 공동체의 단절을 엮는 매개체로 작동하기를 희망한다.
- Lines form planes, planes create spaces, and fulfilled spaces return to lines. We derived ‘weaving’ from thatch, the material of thatched roofs, expanding from rice straw characteristics to the concept of community and life cycle weaving. We hope thatch serves as a medium connecting tradition and modernity, the architectural life cycle, and bridging disconnection.
